This Reno yard is being thoughtfully reimagined as an ecologically minded landscape that spans the entire property. The design focuses on native and adapted plantings to create habitat for birds, bees, and beneficial insects, while curvilinear patios and gathering spaces aim to foster connection for the homeowners and their guests. Inspired by the surrounding Sierra Nevada foothills, the plan balances natural textures, stone, timber, and metal with modern design elements to reflect the local mountain landscape. The concept is a true collaboration: the creative homeowners are actively involved in shaping the design, and the plan anticipates where experts may assist with complex installations such as patios, firepit areas, and structural elements. Existing materials and furnishings are incorporated where possible. This project demonstrates how a thoughtful, collaborative approach can translate the vision of a whole yard into a functional, beautiful, and wildlife-friendly landscape.
